We are recruiting for our client a leading Singapore based financial company. To join their ever expanding Quality Assurance team we require Senior Associate - QA, details as below.

Designation: Senior Associate - Quality Assurance

Primary roles:
* Establish quality standards and procedures within Technology Unit
* Conduct process audit and compliance reviews on established IT policies, procedures within Technology Unit and recommend corrective/preventive actions for improvement.
* Conduct training in established IT policies and procedures
* Co-ordinate certification process with external auditors
* Assist QA Lead in implementation of quality management process for continual improvements
* Assist QA Lead in monitoring implementation of technology risk controls, audit recommendations
* Assist QA Lead in building a quality and risk management culture within Technology Unit

Knowledge and skill requirements:
* At least 2 years experience in development of IT system development and service management processes and conducting compliance reviews and audits on IT policies and process.
* Preferably at least 4-6 years experience in IT systems development, operation and maintenance and familiar with security and quality standards and models including the ITIL framework/ISO20000, ISO177799, CMMI model.
* Good teamwork, strong interpersonal and communication/presentation skills are pre-requisites. Financial sector experience is an advantage.

Key Deliverables expected for this role:
* Develop and enhance procedures/guidelines for IT service management and system development process
* Conduct compliance reviews and audits of IT policies and processes e.g. IT Service Management, acceptance testing.
* Co-ordinate and conduct policies and process training
* Co-ordinate audits with certification authority/auditors and follow-up on issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Experience:

Basel II Team Lead/Manager

They provide its clients with services in the areas of investment banking, private banking and asset management.To join their every growing IT team in Singapore our client is looking for a Team Lead and a Manager within the Basel II IT production support.

Overview:The role is for a team lead and a manager for one of the shifts providing 24*7 production support for Basel II. The team would be responsible for a global batch and end user support for the Basel II architecture, which supports a global user base (New York, London, Zurich and Asia) and has 3 daily batch processing runs. The plan is to have 4 rotating shifts of 3 people to accomplish this. Regional client facing support teams will also be put in place.

The primary responsibility of the shift team would be to provide first line support for all issues arising from batch failures or user queries. Upstream issues would need following-up with the upstream data suppliers and Basel II application issues would involve functional as well as technical troubleshooting. Issues that cannot be resolved by the shift team themselves would need escalation to the second line team.

In addition to handling production issues, the role will include managing the support shift and the relationship with the users and upstream data suppliers, incident management, line management and system status reporting. The support team is part of the Global Regulatory, Tax and Treasury IT group. The aim is to build a production support frame work that can be leveraged for other application in 2008.

Primary Role & Responsibilities:

Production Support

• Provide technical and functional support required for solving application problems during the shift hours covering critical batch processes and online user queries

• Ensure appropriate prioritisation of issues and timely escalations

• Ensure that defects are properly logged and tracked to ensure longer-term resolution

• Ensure a structured handover for the next shift to take over

• Managing team resources and activity. This includes resolving time critical production issues, coordination with other IT groups in problem resolution, continuous improvement to production environment, tracking SLAs, incident trends and reporting on batch performance

• Develop and manage the relationship between the production support team and upstream and down stream systems.

• Develop and manage the relationship with the users.

• Checking releases and upgrades have been successfully applied to the production environments.

• Disaster recover planning and execution.

Reporting

• Daily System Status, Handover Status and Issues Metrics

• Assist in the production of Weekly Issue Summary and Status

• Assist in the production of Monthly Management Reporting

• Assist in the production of Defect Metrics and Status Reporting

Line Management, Recruitment and Training

• Line management of the Basel II production support shift team.

• Assist in recruiting new staff.

• Assist in on boarding and training of new resources.

• On going staff training, management, development.

• Ensuring staff motivation

Team Size: The team will consist of 3 resources (including the lead)

The Client Trading Technology group covers Electronic Trading for internal & external clients. Product coverage includes Listed Derivatives, Equities, Bonds, FX and Repos. Main duties include -

• Have proven track record of working on large distributed systems
• Manage development of critical messaging layer of PRIMETrade system
• Develop, troubleshoot/debug Java code on front-end, back-end and webserver components
• Conduct thorough code reviews
• Work closely with colleagues in NY & SG on enhancements to our electronic trading systems, be an escalation point for front-line support teams
• Follow client standards for administration, design, development, project documentation

Requirements :

To be successful you must be degree qualified with a minimum of 6 years IT experience and posses the following skill set:

• Developer with minimum 6 years experience in Core Java. Well versed in OOPs, serialisation, multi-threading concepts.
• In-depth knowledge of Messaging technology & publish/subscribe concepts (eg JMS, Tibco, MQ Series) and low level networking
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, socket protocol
