Basel II Team Lead/Manager

They provide its clients with services in the areas of investment banking, private banking and asset management.To join their every growing IT team in Singapore our client is looking for a Team Lead and a Manager within the Basel II IT production support.

Overview:The role is for a team lead and a manager for one of the shifts providing 24*7 production support for Basel II. The team would be responsible for a global batch and end user support for the Basel II architecture, which supports a global user base (New York, London, Zurich and Asia) and has 3 daily batch processing runs. The plan is to have 4 rotating shifts of 3 people to accomplish this. Regional client facing support teams will also be put in place.

The primary responsibility of the shift team would be to provide first line support for all issues arising from batch failures or user queries. Upstream issues would need following-up with the upstream data suppliers and Basel II application issues would involve functional as well as technical troubleshooting. Issues that cannot be resolved by the shift team themselves would need escalation to the second line team.

In addition to handling production issues, the role will include managing the support shift and the relationship with the users and upstream data suppliers, incident management, line management and system status reporting. The support team is part of the Global Regulatory, Tax and Treasury IT group. The aim is to build a production support frame work that can be leveraged for other application in 2008.

Primary Role & Responsibilities:

Production Support

• Provide technical and functional support required for solving application problems during the shift hours covering critical batch processes and online user queries

• Ensure appropriate prioritisation of issues and timely escalations

• Ensure that defects are properly logged and tracked to ensure longer-term resolution

• Ensure a structured handover for the next shift to take over

• Managing team resources and activity. This includes resolving time critical production issues, coordination with other IT groups in problem resolution, continuous improvement to production environment, tracking SLAs, incident trends and reporting on batch performance

• Develop and manage the relationship between the production support team and upstream and down stream systems.

• Develop and manage the relationship with the users.

• Checking releases and upgrades have been successfully applied to the production environments.

• Disaster recover planning and execution.

Reporting

• Daily System Status, Handover Status and Issues Metrics

• Assist in the production of Weekly Issue Summary and Status

• Assist in the production of Monthly Management Reporting

• Assist in the production of Defect Metrics and Status Reporting

Line Management, Recruitment and Training

• Line management of the Basel II production support shift team.

• Assist in recruiting new staff.

• Assist in on boarding and training of new resources.

• On going staff training, management, development.

• Ensuring staff motivation

Team Size: The team will consist of 3 resources (including the lead)

Experience:To be successful the candidate should have

• 5-7 (team lead)/8-10 (Manager) years of IT background and experience

• Minimum of 2 – 5 years of IT production support management experience including people management

• Experience of working as part of a global team

• Excellent communication skills

• Excellent analytical/troubleshooting skills

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple issues
